From my research about the Silk Road at The British museum. The following are patterns that have been carefully designed That bring out the interlink between history and the ever changing present.

Each pattern link to objects from history dating back to 500s, rediscovered in shipwrecks, some excavated in different parts of the The Silk Road network that stretches from the Japanese archipelago, with Buddhism being key religion that spread in the 500s; The spices, ornaments, cloth from the southern coast of India and by road to Sassanian empire and Byzantine; The mosaic works from Basilica of San Vitale, in Ravenna, making it a major port city back in time; Finally the Northwest of Europe from Andalusia making the Silk Road major part of history.

Patterns from the Silk Road.
